How long will therapy take?

It is hard to predict how many sessions are needed but often I find the more committed you are to do the work on yourself between sessions, the quicker you start to feel better.  Sessions are proactive and focused on increasing self-awareness and developing the strategies to help yourself.  I like to review sessions frequently so that we both remain focused on the goals for your recovery.  Once you have ended therapy, I offer regular check-ins every few months to ensure you keep on track.

Is CBT Effective?

Starting therapy can feel daunting and it can be hard to know where to start.  I offer a free phone consultation to help understand the problem with you and how I work.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has a lot of research and evidence to back up the therapy approach.  It is an active therapy which means we are both involved in setting the agenda each week and there are often tasks to do between sessions.  I encourage you to be goal focused to keep an eye on what matters to you.

In CBT you will learn how everyday situations highlight patterns of thinking and habits that might not be helpful to you now and how to update these to feel better.  I have seen many people overcome their difficulties and feel able to get on in their lives again.  Have a look at testimonials, see what my past clients have to say.

How much does it cost?

Therapy is an investment into your wellbeing. You are in control of how little or how much investment you make at any one time.

I provide face-to-face therapy and online appointments. Each session lasts for 1 hour and is £80 face to face and £75 online. If you have an enquiry or would like to book a session please fill in the contact form below detailing the days and times when you would like your session – I will then be in touch with you shortly.

I work Monday Wednesday and Friday where I can see you face to face or on zoom.

Is therapy confidential?

‘What you say in counselling is confidential and what we discuss stays between us. However, there are a few exceptions to this, which I will discuss at our first meeting.’

How does online therapy work?

I follow exactly the same protocols online as I would face to face.  Each session lasts and hour and we agree on the platform but generally it will be either via Zoom or Teams.  I will send you the link prior to the day of therapy and be ready in plenty of time to avoid connection issues.  I share any worksheets on the screen and can send you links and worksheets during or after our meeting to assist your homework tasks. Take a look at my blog about the pros and cons of online therapy which maybe helpful – Online therapy is it for you?
